Is the Pirate Boat in Side Safe? What We Can Tell You
A parent's question deserves a careful answer, not a reassuring slogan. Here is exactly what we can tell you about safety on the two pirate days, what to ask us, and what stays your job.
Short answer
Both pirate days sail on the same pirate ship, and the kids' programme is run by an officially licensed maritime crew — a licensed captain and certified crew. The kids' programme also includes travel insurance for every guest. On both days, parents stay responsible for their own children. We give no medical assurances: if you have a concern, tell us before you book.
What we can tell you
- Kids' pirate programme: boat operations are carried out by an officially licensed maritime crew, with a licensed captain and certified crew.
- Kids' pirate programme: travel insurance for every guest for the trip is in the fare.
- Pirate boat trip: a family day designed around children, where parents stay with their children throughout.
- Kids' pirate programme: mums and dads may take part in the games and the swim.
- Both days: hotel transfers in an air-conditioned vehicle.
Both days use the same pirate ship. The licensed-crew statement and the travel insurance belong to the kids' programme.
Questions worth asking first
A careful parent may want to know more: the equipment on board, the rules at the swim stops, who watches the water. Rather than answer with comforting guesses on a web page, we would rather you asked.
If any of those points decides whether your family comes, ask before you book. Send the question to +90 536 603 75 84 on WhatsApp, and decide once you have the answer. You lose nothing by asking — there is no payment until the day.
What stays with you
On both days your children remain your responsibility. In practice that means:
- In the water, a child who cannot swim confidently is with an adult at arm's length — whatever the stop, whatever the crew is doing.
- On deck, you know where your child is, especially when the games or the foam party are in full swing.
- In the sun, you apply and reapply high-SPF sun cream and keep hats on. The day lasts about 6 hours.
- In the river-mouth swim on the kids' programme, cold river water meets warm sea water. Watch how your child copes with the cold.
Health, seasickness and medical conditions
We cannot promise that anyone will or will not feel seasick, and we do not give medical assurances of any kind. If someone in your party is pregnant, has a heart condition, epilepsy, a serious allergy or anything else that worries you, tell us before you book. The crew decides on the day whether and how someone takes part; your doctor is the right person for medical advice.
For allergies and diets, the lunch guide covers what is served. For older guests and limited mobility, see the first boat trip and grandparents guide.
Who you are booking with
The bookings on this site are taken by Murat Atalay Travel Agency, licensed by TÜRSAB, the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies, under number 11294. That licence is the one credential we state; we publish no ratings or awards.
If you are weighing the two days with safety in mind, the kids' programme is the day that names its licensed crew and includes travel insurance for every guest. The details of that day are on the kids' pirate programme page.
