Planning a family day
Pirate Boat Side with a Baby Under 2: What to Know
A baby on a pirate ship sounds like a lot. In practice the fare is simple and the planning is mostly yours — so here is what we can tell you, and where you should ask before booking.
Short answer
A child under 2 rides free on both pirate days — the pirate boat trip and the kids' pirate programme. Add them to the booking so the crew know they are coming. Beyond the free place, we cannot promise baby equipment such as a cot or baby food, so bring everything your baby needs, and ask us on WhatsApp first if one thing would decide the day.
The fare for the very youngest
From birth up to age 1, your child travels free on either day. From 2, the two days differ. On the pirate boat trip, children from 2 to 10 travel at the child fare of €14 and older guests pay €20. The kids' pirate programme works differently: it has one fare of €23 for every guest from 2.
So a baby's birthday can change the bill. If your little one turns 2 before the trip, they move from free to a paid place. Our prices page sets out every fare in one place.
Put the baby on the booking
Free does not mean invisible. Enter your baby in the booking form's youngest band so the driver, the crew and the head count all know there is one more small person coming. If you book on WhatsApp, say how old they are.
What we can and cannot promise
We can tell you the fare, that the hotel transfer is included in an air-conditioned vehicle, and that parents stay with their children throughout the day. On the kids' pirate programme, every guest's fare includes travel insurance; if you want to know how that applies to a baby riding free, ask before you book.
We cannot promise a cot, a changing area, a high chair, baby food or a car seat in the transfer. That does not mean none exists — only that we will not tell you something we have not checked. If one of these makes or breaks the day, message +90 536 603 75 84 on WhatsApp and we will ask the crew for you before you commit.
The safety guide covers the licensed captain and crew. We give no medical assurances: if your baby has a health condition, raise it before booking, and the crew will decide on the day.
Which day suits a baby
Babies do not care about treasure maps; older siblings do. Choose the day for the rest of the family, then plan the baby around it. The pirate boat trip is a coast cruise with swim stops and lunch; the kids' programme goes down the river to a swim at the river mouth and ends with a foam party with music. Either way it is about 6 hours, so plan for naps, feeds and shade.
Our toddlers and babies guide compares the two days for small children in more detail.
A packing list for the smallest pirate
- Nappies, wipes and a bag for used ones — enough for the whole day and a few spare.
- Milk, formula or food, and anything you need to prepare it.
- A sun hat, high-factor sun cream suitable for babies, and a light cover for shade.
- Swimwear or swim nappies if you plan to take them in, and a towel.
- A sling or carrier: easier on a boat than a pushchair.
- A change of clothes, and one for you too.
