The Treasure Hunt and Pirate Games on the Side Pirate Boat
Both pirate-ship days put a hunt for treasure at the centre of the children's day. The games around it differ, and so does how much is organised for them.
Short answer
On the pirate boat trip, the crew — dressed as pirates — run games, tell pirate stories and lead a treasure hunt around the deck. On the kids' pirate programme, the animation team hands out a treasure map, runs a tug-of-war and sends the children after the pirate Ferhat. Both games sit inside the fare; neither costs anything extra.
On the pirate boat trip
The hunt is woven into a day that begins with dressing up. Children are given pirate costumes as they come aboard, the crew are already in theirs, and the games, stories and treasure hunt happen around the deck as the ship cruises along the coast. Between them come the swim stops and lunch, so the play is spread across the day rather than packed into one session.
Parents stay with their children throughout. That is part of how the day works: you are on deck with them, free to watch, help or take photographs on your own camera or phone.
On the kids' pirate programme
Here the games are run by professional guides and an animation team, and there are more of them. The children have their faces painted for free, then follow a treasure map, pull against each other in a tug-of-war and finally try to catch the pirate Ferhat. After lunch the day moves on to the foam party, with music, Halay and children's dances.
Parents are welcome to join in. Nothing about the programme requires it, but a grown-up on the rope during the tug-of-war is very much allowed.
Which game day suits your children
- Children who like a story and a costume: the pirate boat trip, where dressing up and the hunt go together.
- Children who like lively, organised fun: the kids' programme, with its animation team and foam party.
- Very young children: both days are free under 2; join the games with them at their own pace.
Neither day lists a prize or a set length for any game, so we do not promise either.
Getting the children ready
Dress them in swimwear under their clothes — both days include a swim, and on the kids' day the foam party follows. Bring a towel, a hat and sun cream for everyone, and a camera or phone if you want pictures. On the kids' day, the crew's professional photos and video are sold apart from the fare. The complete packing list is in what to bring.
If you are deciding between the two days, the comparison lays them side by side, and the costumes and face painting page covers the dressing-up. Book the pirate boat trip or the kids' pirate programme when you are ready.
Who is the pirate Ferhat?
He is part of the kids' programme's show: catching him is one of the games on that day. We will not spoil anything beyond that — the children find out on board.
