Side Pirate Boat Itinerary: Both Days, Step by Step
Two days on the same pirate ship, run in two different shapes. One cruises the coast; the other heads down the river. Here is each one from hotel door to hotel door, in the order the day runs.
Short answer
The pirate boat trip runs from morning to afternoon: hotel pickup, a short drive to the harbour, costumes for the children, games and a treasure hunt, a cruise along the coast with swim stops, lunch on board, then back. The kids' pirate programme sails at 10:00 down the river to a swim at the river mouth, then face painting, games, a kids' lunch and a foam party before the transfer home. Both last about 6 hours.
The pirate boat trip, in order
- Pickup at your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, and a short drive to the harbour.
- On board, the crew are dressed as pirates, and the children are handed pirate costumes as they step on. Costumes they bring from home are just as welcome.
- Games, pirate stories and a treasure hunt around the deck.
- The ship sets off along the coast.
- Swim stops in the clear Mediterranean.
- Lunch on board, with kid-friendly favourites.
- Back to the harbour in the afternoon, then the drive to your hotel.
This day runs from morning to afternoon without a published departure time; you hear your pickup time the evening before.
The kids' pirate programme, in order
- Pickup at your hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle, to the Side departure dock.
- At 10:00 the ship casts off and goes gently down the river.
- The river mouth: cold fresh river water meets the warm salty sea, and everyone who wants to can swim.
- Free face painting turns the children into pirates.
- A treasure-map hunt, a tug-of-war, and the chase to catch the pirate Ferhat.
- The kids' lunch on board — spaghetti, chicken fingers, fish fingers.
- The foam party on deck, with music, the Halay and children's dances.
- The transfer back to your hotel.
What the two shapes mean for your day
The pirate boat trip is built around the sea. The open coast, the stops for a swim and the time on deck between them are the backbone; the costumes and treasure hunt give the children a story to play inside.
The kids' programme is built around the animation. The river leg is gentle, the swim comes at the point where the river meets the sea, and from there the day is a run of organised fun that ends loudly, in foam.
Neither day publishes timings between the steps. What we can tell you is the order, the length — about 6 hours on each — and, for the kids' programme only, that the ship sails at 10:00.
Where parents fit in
On the pirate boat trip, parents stay with their children throughout. It is a family day, not a drop-off.
On the kids' programme the day is themed for the children, but mums and dads can join in the games and the swim too. Since adults pay the same fare there, joining in is part of what you have paid for.
Either way, plan to be the one who keeps an eye on your own child in the water and on deck.
Planning around the timetable
Both days take most of the daylight, so treat them as the day's whole plan rather than a morning activity. After about 6 hours of sun, swimming and noise, plan a slow evening.
Packing is covered in the what to bring guide, and the lunches have a guide of their own. When you are ready, the prices page shows both fares side by side.
